IIR - Have you ever taken one of the wonderful architectural tours offered on the Chicago River? They're amazing and even talk about the first statue you show - do you know that it's actually without a face because they never dreamed any building would soar any higher?
BTW, the second shot of the old Montgomery Ward building looks like it could have been taken from the building where I used to live. How I miss Chicago.
